The Ultimate Seven: Fundamental principles of a God-centered life
(5th of a Series)
3.) God is the Source.
Myriads upon myriads of creeping creatures rise up each day to sing in chorus the jubilant hymn of Nature at the break of dawn while myriads still of other creatures noisily spread their wings as they fly toward the sun that gradually yet majestically dominates the eastern horizon. These and countless other wonders of each new day remind us constantly that there is an inexhaustible and infinitely creative Source of life, truth, beauty and all other good. God is that inexhaustible and infinitely creative Source of these infinitely diverse blessings of life.
God is the Source, and yet how many people on earth would acknowledge or would even be aware of this truth? Many would continue to enjoy the countless blessings that come with the very gift of life itself yethow they remained oblivious to the fact that the smallest molecular particle in this vastuniverse would cease to exist were it not for the uninterrupted solicitude of a loving God that upholds the existence of everycreature!
In the rise and fall of nations or individuals God is still the Source that brought the countless opportunities that led either to the glories of achievements or the regrets of negligences. And how many favored ones, gifted with rich opportunities of physical and material resources, or cultural and intellectual advantages would know how to look back to their forebears who in their struggles from the pangs of indigence and cultural deprivations were guided by the unseen hand of the Source and Bestower of every good? How many priviledged men and women of our time would really know how to acknowledge and thank this great Benefactor of us all.? On the contrary, many would continue to enjoy and live their lives as if they were the center of the whole world and as if God had never existed and as if any language about God had long been obsolete.
God is the Source of life and every good things. He created each one of us out of our nothingness. We came into this world naked and helpless. God nurtured us and clothed usand blessed us beyond ourthoughts and expectations. Then we looked around with pride in our heart and air in our head, forgetting that we came from nothing. We live our life as if there is no God, or if He ever exists, He is nothing but another invention that we manipulate to serve our every whim and desire. Then God allows the ground to shake, or the waves of the sea to rise, and suddenly we begin to outrun each other to the nearest church or temple.
In the Old Testament, Job, in his most tragic state did not complain. He simply said: "The Lord gives; the Lord takes . Blessed be the Name of the Lord." He acknowledged God as the Source.
