PSB extends P27.039 M assistance to public elementary, high schools

The Iloilo Provincial School Board (PSB) chaired by Gov. Niel D. Tupas, Sr. has already extended a total of P27,039,000.00 financial assistance to public elementary and high schools in the province from first quarter to third quarter of this year.
Based on PSB records, there were about 316 public elementary and secondary schools from 39 municipalities that benefited of this financial aid to be utilized in the improvement school facilities, building new classrooms and in procurement of school projects such as TV, DVD players, computers, photocopying machines, and electric pumps, among others.
In first district, the PSB has extended a total amount of P6,392,000.00 assistance to 90 public elementary and secondary schools. Of the amount P550,000.00 went to Guimbal; P200,000.00, Igbaras; P1,270,000.00, Miagao; P1,830,000.00, Oton; P1,030,000.00, Tigbauan; P600,000.00, Tubungan; and P912,000.00, San Joaquin.
In second district, 37 schools received financial assistance in a total amount of P3,650,000.00. Chunk of this amount went to Alimodian which totaled P770,000.00; Leganes, P690,000.00; Leon, P350,000.00; New Lucena, P810,000.00; and Sta. Barbara, P1,030,000.00.
In third district, 78 schools obtained the financial aid in the amount of P5,787,000.00. Portion of this amount was granted to Badiangan, P100,000.00; Bingawan, P30,000,00; Cabatuan, P1,490,000.00; Calinog, P1,312,000.00; Janiuay, P800,000.00; Labunao, P1,570,000.00; Maasin, P315,000.00; Mina, P170,000.00; and Pototan, P1,240,000.00.
In fourth district, P3,250,000.00 financial assistance went to 34 public schools. Chunk of this was given to Barotac Nuevo, P500,000.00; Dingle, P870,000.00; Dueñas, P750,000.00; Dumangas, P380,000.00; Passi City, P500,000.00; and San Enrique, P250,000.00.
In fifth district, 79 public schools were given assistance in a total amount of P7,960,000.00. Of this amount, P1,490,000.00 went to Ajuy; P900,000.00, Barotac Viejo; P260,000.00, Balasan; P150,000.00, Balasan; P1,135,000.00, Carles; P765,000.00, Concepcion; P150,000.00, Estancia; P1,400,000.00, Lemery; P380,000.00, San Dionisio; P480,000.00, San Rafael; and P400,000.00, Sara.
The Iloilo National High School also received a total amount of P790,000.00.
Meanwhile, Tupas reiterated that he is willing to release fund to public schools as long as they can comply the needed requirements.
A product of public school himself, he believes the improved school facilities and good environment has great contribution to the performance of schoolchildren inside the classroom.
Last Monday, a total amount of P6,750,000.00 checks was released to 79 public elementary and secondary schools from 28 municipalities.
The checks were personally distributed by Gov. Niel D. Tupas, Sr. and assisted by Mr. Mario Nillos, PGDH, Provincial Planning and Development Office.
