Drug charges are out today (Friday) against a 23 year-old female resident of Barangay Sto. Niño Norte, Arevalo, Iloilo City and two other male associates following a police drug bust early Wednesday evening. The woman drug suspect, authorities said, was the live-in partner of one Dexter Pesasico, subject of the entrapment operation in one beach resort in Arevalo District. Pesasico managed to escape thru a hatch in the roof leaving behind the arrested trio.
With a civilian poseur-buyer sent by police, suspected Shabu or poor man's cocaine and various drug paraphernalia including the marked money were recovered.
In a report, The News Today (TNT) gathered that those arrested were Cristine Caballero, 27 year-old Joenabe Osorio and 24 year-old Jimmy Somoza of Zone 7, Calumpang, Molo District.
Arresting team was led by operatives of Arevalo cops in Police Precinct 6 (PP6) SPO2 Romulo Felicio, SPO1 Umadhay, SPO1 Acopicop, SPO1 Catedrilla Jr. PO2 Wendam and PO1 Vito under the supervision of PP6 commander, Senior Inspector Federico Silvestre.
A scuffle reportedly ensued when operatives were barred entry in the subject's rented beach hut, leading to additional charge of obstruction of justice to suspect Osorio said to be the "runner" for Pesasico.
An inventory of the recovered items include the one big sachet of suspected Shabu, three other smaller sachets also of the suspected drug several pieces of aluminum foil strips, one black wire tooter, several pieces of empty small transparent plastic sachets, three disposable lighters, one improvised tooter and a stainless scissor. A pink pencil case marked "happy day" revealed yet more drug paraphernalia.
The marked money from the police asset was reportedly recovered in the possession of Caballero.
