2 dead in fight over dog
Extensive manhunt operations continue in search of a male suspect in a tragic squabble over the weekend in Jaro, Iloilo City. Two locals, both drinking buddies, died due to fatal stab wounds, the attacker according to police was a transient resident in the area. The cause of the trouble? The dog of one of the victims accidentally 'hit' by the suspect on board his trisikad.
Authorities identified the victims as 30 year-old Rogelio Tubongbanwa of Barangay Simon Ledesma, Jaro, Iloilo City and friend, Erwin Baclas. In a report, The News Today (TNT) gathered that the duo were at the height of their drinking session when the suspect passed by and "hit" the sleeping dog. This earned the ire of the two pals and minutes thereafter, a tussle ensued. Baclas attempted to pacify his friend and his attacker but was also stabbed in the physical exchange.
Residents rushed the victims to the West Visayas State University Medical Center however within the hour of emergency treatment, both succumbed to multiple stab wounds sustained in the fight.
The suspect according to police was a 'new face' in the district and is a native of Bicol. Probers are positive of an arrest within the week.
