Jap expert to help in city's traffic woes
A Japanese expert from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will arrive in the city to assess the city's worsening traffic situation and come up with a traffic management plan.
Mayor Jerry Treñas said Mr. Nosaki of the JICA will be in the city to personally see the traffic situation in the city.
The city's traffic problem has been a major headache of the present administration. Congestion is due to narrow roads and the huge number of vehicles plying the streets.
Treñas said the traffic problem in the city could be resolved not only by introducing ordinances but by widening the roads and create new open areas to accommodate vehicles.
The mayor acknowledged that traffic management plan should not only come from the Traffic Management and Engineering Unit (TMEU). Personnel from the City Engineer's Office (CEO) and City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) should also do their share in the traffic management plan.
