7 Botika ng Barangay outlets open in Negros
Negros Occidental -- In line with the government's effort to eradicate poverty, the local government of Talisay City in this province opened seven outlets of Botika ng Barangay to serve its populace.
Under the leadership of Mayor Eric Saratan, seven outlets are already serving the public while seven more are to open soon as soon as the medicines from Department of Health arrive.
A report from Malacanang recently stated that the social payback for economic reforms is starting to be felt in terms of new jobs, more schools, growing agricultural output and cheaper medicines -- but much more needs to be done, not only by the Government alone, but by the people themselves, to lift the nation out of poverty.
The BnB project is the response of the Talisaynons and its local government to the challenge. The outlets that will provide affordable medicines to the residents of the city are located in barangays Katilingban, Cabatangan, Concepcion, Dos Hermanas, Zone 12-A, Zone 3 and Bubog.
The Botika ng Barangay program is a project of the Talisay government with the Proyekto Laban sa Kahirapan of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
