D-Day at Guimaras
At least a hundred airsoft enthusiasts wrecked havoc in the usually tranquil barangay of Alaguisoc in Jordan, Guimaras for a 24-hour wargame all in the name of reviving the beautiful island province as one of the premier tourist destinations in the country.
Held last November 25 and 26, airsoft teams from Eastern and Western Visayas shot each other with realistic looking electric powered guns.
Participants found themselves immersed in an almost real battlefield at the 28.7-hectare Guimaras Adventure Park all throughout the day and late into the night. Many would never forget their mis-adventures during the evening part of the games and the incessant “firefights” that occurred in an almost hourly basis.
In the end, with sheer numbers and firepower, Iloilo’s R6 Airsoft took control of Bacolod’s camp early in the final day and used the latter, along with their forces, to overwhelm the battle worn troops of Cebu and Dumaguete just before noon.
You could see the smiles and non-stop chatter from these weekend warriors when two days of unforgettable pure wargame action came to a close.
