Unraveling The Nude
In lieu of the National Arts Month celebration, the University of the Philippines in the Visayas Chancellor's Committee on Culture and the Arts supported a sultry art exhibit dubbed as The Nude. The exhibit tackles the most-admired of all subjects -- the unclothed human figure. The Nude was born out of the collaboration of 28 prolific Ilonggo artists who individually interpreted the beauty that lies within every being by giving vivid details on soft curves and bold lines.
Renowned Ilonggo artists whose names are synonymous with art contributed to this rare exhibit. They are Angel Alegre, Lester Amacio, Joe Amora, Czar Arro, Benji Belgica, Anthony Castillo, Ed Defensor, Angelo Duarte, Guijo Dueñas, Rock Drilon, Shielo Duterte, Joey Esturias, Edgar Ferraris, Art Gerochi, Katrina Gonzales, Mark Gonzales, Ronnie Granja, Jeline Laporga, Jomarie Moleta, Mike Moleta, Rheo Nepomuceno, Fred Orig, Pierre Patricio, Alan Riviera, Fundador Tan, Boopee Villareal, PG Zoluaga and Don Protasio.
The Nude exhibit opened last February 15, 2007 and will last until February 28 of this year. Come and participate in the celebration of beauty and wonder. Visit the University of the Philippines in the Visayas Art Gallery.
