The 5th Search for 'Ang Batang Lider 2007' is on
The annual search for the Outstanding Student Leaders of Iloilo City for school year 2006-2007 is not on its 5th year. This prestigious search is being spearheaded by H.A.L.I.G.I. Foundation with its founding chairman Councilor Jed Mabilog in cooperation with Mayor Jerry P. Treñas and the Iloilo City Government, the Department of Education-Iloilo City Schools Division, Iloilo City (Host) Lions Club, and ABS-CBN TV-10 Iloilo. On its 5th year, H.A.L.I.G.I. Foundation is expecting nominees from thirty-two public and private high schools in Iloilo City. With the vision of “A pro-active student leadership in Iloilo City”, the project aims to give recognition to student leaders who have manifested deep sense of social responsibility and exemplary leadership that inspired student involvement in various activities, which resulted to positive change to the student, organization, school and the community.
The search is open to all graduating high school presidents, chairpersons or heads of school organizations and/or student councils or governing bodies recognized by the school (public or private belonging to the Division of Iloilo City Schools or a High School situated within the City of Iloilo.
The search is categorized into public or national high schools, state colleges and universities, and private high schools. Upon evaluation of the entry, the steering committee shall call on the ten finalists from each category for a panel interview from which the top five winners shall be chosen for each category. Fifteen winners will be declared as “Ang Batang Lider 2007” awardee. The awarding ceremony is on March 15, 2007, 5 p.m. at the Fountain Area of Robinsons Place Iloilo.
