Politics behind Tubungan SK 'outcry,' prexy says
A day after news got out of an in-house problem in the Sanggunian Kabataan (SK) in the Municipality of Tubungan, Iloilo, Jefferson Tabalina, SK Federation President said politics is to be blamed with an unseen hand pushing for all these.
Yet he will not resign amidst the supposed sentiments of colleagues brought by his absences as he made an appeal to his critics and explained that the concerns as raised were already threshed out.
"My resignation is not the solution," he stressed in a live interview yesterday with Bombo Radyo's Rodel Fullon. This, as Tabalina also voiced his disagreement with the contention that he has ceased to be the voice of the Tubungan SK. He does participate in the meetings and sessions, he added albeit "not as active" if compared from before.
And like the other SK chairmen throughout the country, he continued, his problem is similar as he bids for more understanding since he is trying to balance school work needed as a graduating Nursing student.
Tabalina was subject of a Resolution issued by fellow SK chairmen with the group "earnestly appealing" for action given his numerous absences in the regular meetings of the council where he represents the group as the town's Ex-officio member.
The Resolution was sent to Board Member Jeneda Salcedo, Provincial Federation President while copies were also sent anew to the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Mayor's Office and the Office of the Tubungan Municipal Council.
"Nabaton ko na ang resolusyon kag naestoryahan na ina namon upod sa DIlG officer namon. Tapos na ina tanan (I received that resolution and we already discussed that together with our DILG officer. That has been settled already)," he said.
Pressed for further reaction, Tabalina decried the resurgence of said matter as he quipped, "wala man ko ya plano mag-Mayor ukon konsehal. (I do not even have a plan to run for Mayor or councilor)."
