Mechanic facing rap for killing his live-in partner
A 44-year old mechanic is now facing murder complaint for allegedly killing his live-in partner Friday night at Barangay Buray, Oton. The suspect made it appear that the victim committed suicide.
Police identified the suspect as Antonio Del Olmo of Barangay Botong, also in the town of Oton. He is now detained at the Oton Municipal Police Station pending the filing of the murder complaint against him.
Investigators said a witness positively identified Del Olmo as the assailant of Jasmine Flores, 37. The two have an eight year old son. A nylon cord tied in the victim's neck was recovered by investigators at the crime scene.
Prior to the discovery of Flores's body, their neighbor's heard the victim's screaming for help. They heard the scream at about 10 p.m. of Friday night. The victim attempted three times to call help from her neighbors. Some of their neighbors responded and went near the victim's house and called Flores.
Yet, the they heard the voice of the suspect when they called Flores. They left the area believing Flores was already alright with his live-in partner being around. No disturbing sound or scream was then heard.
However, at about 1 a.m. of Saturday, the couple's eight year old son went out of their house and sought the help of their neighbors. At first, the boy told their neighbors that his father is already dead. The house was dark and the boy could not see who is hanging on their ceiling.
The concerned neighbors then called the police. Only to find out, that it was Flores who was hanging on the ceiling. Few hours after the police responded, they rounded up Del Olmo. Del Olmo reportedly had been physically abusing his live-in partner even before the killing happened.
