10th Philippine Fashion Week Grand Finale unveils April 1
Delos Santos
* Protasio, Aparicio, delos Santos and Castelo to represent Iloilo City
No less than 120 of the country's established and emerging talents in the fashion industry will be showing off their latest creations in a grand production that is slated to dazzle attendees in what is considered the local counterpart of the London, Milan and New York Fashion Week.
Aparicio
Representing Iloilo are fashion designers Don Protasio, Eric de los Santos, Aldrich Aparicio and Jasmine Castelo.
Protasio will unveil his retro futuristic creations tomorrow, April 1 in the Grand Finale of the 10th Philippine Fashion Week at the Glorietta Activity Center.
Castelo
He will be showing off his creations made of jusi, barong material, voile mixed with woven metallic silver fabric. Based on this theme of combining religious iconography and futurism, the shapes of his designs are loose and A-line, reminiscent of futuristic designs from the 70s but subverted using local materials.
Tasked to model his creations are the country's top mannequins like Charo Ronquillo (the first Asian and Filipina to win Supermodel of the World International), Crizenda Cecilio (Mega Magazine's Faces to Watch 2005),
Protasio
Criscel Angudong, 2tay Maristela (both Supermodel of the World Philippine winners), Ria Bolivar (Ilongga Supermodel and Ms. Model of the World) and Dimples dela Cruz (latest Ilongga model discovery).
This year's edition of Philippine Fashion Week is expected to serve as a canvas for the hottest looks with the scene's hottest runway stars.
