The 'Soul' of music
Bobby Soul of The Platters, along with the Magic Touch Angels gave a one-of-a kind and excellent performance before Ilonggos at the Amigo Terrace Hotel recently.
While Soul crooned old-time favorites of The Platters and other singers, the Magic Touch Angels gave energetic and heart-pumping numbers like the Can-Can, Broadway, Vegas and Filipino folk dances.
During the three-hour event, Soul introduced his wife, who hails from Batangas and whom he hasn't seen for almost two years. "If not for her, I wouldn't be here," Soul said.
The Magic Touch Angels, on the other hand, are Filipinas that Soul trained and helped in the past 10 months.
Half of the proceeds of the show went to the Western Visayas Sanitarium in Sta. Barbara, Iloilo. Soul also sold brochures and the the proceeds also went to the same beneficiary.
The show was presented by the Rotary Club of Iloilo City and sponsored by The News Today, Amigo Terrace Hotel, ABS-CBN, MOR 91.1 and Chem Printers and Traders.
