pose during Tuesday's launching of Hello Tomorrow
Fund in Iloilo City.
From providing women with immense earning opportunities to being the biggest global corporate advocate of the fight against breast cancer, Avon launches a new program to show how committed it is about being the company for women.
In connection with the launch of Hello Tomorrow, its new corporate campaign, Avon also unveiled the Hello Tomorrow Fund, the company's worldwide initiative to support and recognize individuals and nonprofit organizations that help empower and improve women's lives. Avon is looking for 12 individuals or organized groups which will be granted P100,000 representing an additional resource for them to continue their women's advocacy programs. A grantee will be announced every month starting May.
Grants awarded may fall in any of two categories: The Community Service grant will be given to help expand current nonprofit projects that help women realize their full potential or overcome obstacles. The Awareness and Outreach grant will go to programs that inspire women to succeed by making information about women's issue more public. Apart from this grant, the selected individual or nonprofit organization will be recognized through Avon's website and publicity efforts.
Grants will alternately be awarded among Metro Manila, Visayas, Mindanao and Luzon applicants. During the year, each area will have three opportunities to receive the grant. Any individual can qualify as long as he or she is a Filipino citizen and at least 21 years old. Nonprofit organizations must be duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Applicants or their immediate family and household members should not have affiliations with political, business interest or lobby groups, as well as Avon, its vendors, suppliers and agencies.
Criteria for selection includes the existence of a current project that is successfully empowering women; a solid and realistic plan for spending the grant and raising any additional funds if needed and concrete, measurable and achievable outcomes. Full details of the grand requirements are in application forms which are available at any Avon branch nationwide.
The first awards grantee will be from Metro Manila. Deadline for submision of Metro Manila application to any Avon Metro Manila Branch is on April 15. The grantee will be announced on May 15.
