Langford Place: Where friendship and love for food go together
Mushroom and Tomato Pasta
After a long day at work or at school, it's always nice to catch up with friends. And what better way to do it than in a place where the food and drinks are good and where one feels really comfortable.
For some students and yuppies, they have chosen the haven made by Al and Grace. This place, considered as a second home to many, is called Langford Place, a small nook beside SM City.
The name was inspired by Langford, a street in London just across where Al and Grace resided. It was near here that Al worked in a coffee shop and deli for four years, enhancing his love for cooking.
Lasagna
Even before his London stint, Al had worked in a Chinese fastfood chain and a sandwich bar. He loved cooking since he was in grade school. After all, he came from a family of cooks. This passion has turned into a business. Through Langford Place, he and Grace are able to cook up some Filipino and European appetizers, sandwiches and pasta.
PASTA AND BREAD. Some of their pasta delights are Mushroom and Tomato, Bolognese, Classic Italian Sauce, Pesto and Tomato, Carbonara and Lasagna. One can also munch on sandwiches with fillings like Canadian Ham, Roast Beef, Double Smoked Bacon, Chicken Supreme and Pineapple Cheese. They make use of real Italian bread, French bread and Ciabatta. Another bread-based offering is Mantou, derived from the Chinese word, meaning "stuffed". The variety of stuffings include Smoked Bacon, Beef Taco, Pepperoni, Spinach Pesto, Mushroom Chicken Pesto and Tuna Melt. A Mantou is a one-inch bread stick with any of the above mentioned fillings coupled with Cheedar cheese for that creamy taste.
Omelette
TUMMY FILLERS. Those who want to take brunch at Langford can consider omelettes like Mushroom and Tomato, Spanish Omelet (pure vegetables like carrots, green peas and sweet pepper) and Ham and Cheese. Some tummy fillers include Pork Sisig, Roast Chicken and Chili Beef, all served with rice, mixed vegetables and drinks.
BEVERAGES. To quench one's thirst and to refresh oneself especially during the summer season, one can try their variety of slush --- Peach, Strawberry, Pineapple, Raspberry, Cherry, Grapes, Grapefruit , Passion Fruit and Black Currant. Perk up your mornings or enjoy conversations with friends over a cup of Rose Tea or Lavender Tea. For those who love alcohol, they also serve beer "with a twist."
Rose Tea
These are their flavored beers. Just imagine taking a sip of that ice, cold SMB that's flavored with apple, butterscotch, kiwi, mint and caramel.
So, what makes Langford Place so special? Those who frequent this can attest to the fact that Al and Grace are friendly. They would sit with you and listen to how your day went, offer you advice when you need one and laugh with you. Sometimes, you'll see Grace play cards with the patrons, just for fun. And the secret to their delicious food? Al said, "We give ourselves to what we are cooking."
