107 drug personalities arrested in WV
Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 has already filed a total of 65 cases in court against 107 drug personalities who were arrested in 78 police operations as of today. An estimated 2,236.64 grams of marijuana and 27.282 grams of shabu with an approximated value of PhP110,479.95 were yielded in the said operations.
Chief Supt. Wilfredo V. Dulay Sr. commends the performance of Iloilo City Police Office as it tops in this accomplishment with 40 arrested persons, a figure way ahead than other police units.
Negros Occidental Police Office comes second with 23 arrested persons, followed by Bacolod City Police Office with 11 arrested persons, Aklan Police Provincial Office with nine, Iloilo Police Provincial Office with six and Capiz and Antique with one arrested person each.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 6 and Regional Crime Investigation Detection Unit (RCIDU) 6 also contribute in the figure with 14 and two cases, respectively.
Dulay said these records apparently indicate the existence of illegal drug pushers operating in Western Visayas but intelligence monitoring is being intensified and police operatives are only looking for substantial evidence to nab these persons.
“We enjoin every Ilonggo to cooperate in our campaign against this menace (illegal drug) by feeding the police with information regarding the activities of drug personalities in their area,” he said.
Despite the number of illegal drugs cases, Dulay said that no shabu laboratory is monitored in Western Visayas.
“Illegal drugs are coming in from other regions; that is why we are strengthening the security in all ports of entry, like seaports and airports, to pre-empt the drug pushers from bringing in their illegal merchandise here,” Dulay said. (PIO-PRO 6)
