Traffic aides undergo seminar

Expect better traffic aides manning the city's streets in the coming days as they recently underwent a seminar/workshop dubbed as Workplace Values for Traffic Aide Effectiveness.
The 270 traffic aides under the Traffic Management and Engineering Unit (TMEU) underwent a seminar with Prof. Lorenza Padojinog of the College of Management of the University of the Philippines in Visayas. The seminar started in April 19 and ended yesterday.
The traffic aides came in batches in the seminar held at the Sarabia Manor and Convention Center. The said seminar primarily aimed at letting the traffic aides recognize the importance of the role they play in the traffic management.
The seminar served as a venue for the traffic aides to define certain ethical standards and internalize the value of meaningful and rewarding work done with integrity and the Christian ethics. Traffic aides in the city are facing issues such as illegal collection of fees from the drivers, favoritism and arrogance causing rift between them and the drivers.
The seminar was ordered by Mayor Jerry Treñas in the wake of growing complaints against traffic aides relative to the way they perform their duties.
The same seminar will also prepare the traffic aides in future changes in the traffic management when the two fly-overs in the city become operational.
