Cops' clothing allowance raised
Good news to all members of the Philippines National Police! Pursuant to National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Resolution No. 2007-182, which amended Item Nos. 17 and 18 of NAPOLCOM Resolution Nr 96-093, the police will now receive an increase on their clothing allowance effective the second quarter of this year.
The amendment provides the increase of Initial Clothing Allowance (ICA) from P11,247 for male and P12,075 for female police recruits to P22,058.50 and P23,028.00, respectively. The ICA, which is to be given in kind, is granted to the police upon entry to the service.
The Replacement Clothing Allowance (RCA) which was P10,827.00 for male and P11,655 for female is also raised to P17,543.50 equally for both. The RCA will also be given in kind to all police regardless of rank, position and designation every three years of continuous service.
Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 regional director Chief Supt. Wilfredo Dulay Sr. said the increase of ICA and RCA is over and above the basic pay and longevity pay of uniformed personnel of the PNP.
"This (increase) is necessary considering the cost of uniforms have also increased," he said adding, "we want also our policemen to look good with their new uniforms, and for sure this is the rationale why the RCA is given in kind to ensure that amount is used to which it is intended.."
Meanwhile, Dulay ordered the conduct of regular rank inspection among PNP personnel assigned at Camp Delgado every first Friday of the month. The primary objective of this activity is the accounting of personnel and to check their uniforms, firearms and over-all readiness.
