It was a double celebration for veteran fashion designer Mel Varca last May 15. She celebrated her birthday and her 20 years in the fashion industry. This was attended by family and friends who donned different costumes to give the party a twist. Those who came were a beauty queen, the Devil himself, Egyptian queen, war veteran, Imelda Marcos, the Devil who wears Prada, friends in their 70s attire, a beggar, butterfly and campers, among others.

For 20 years, Mel has proven herself worthy of her clients' trust and confidence. "I am happy and thankful that I have reached the ladder of success slowly but surely. That's because I've loved my work, respected myself, appreciated God's gift of talent and most of all, being responsible and committed to people who believed in what I can offer," she said.

Any dream that Mel wants after she achieved all these? "I've always wanted to continue the talk show which I started in ABS-CBN last 1999. In God's time I might be able to do so and end up helping and making people happy," she said.
To Tita Mel, may you have all your heart's desires.
