Treñas warns vs speeding at Pison Avenue
Pison Avenue in Mandurriao
City Mayor Jerry Treñas warned all drivers who are speeding at the Pison Avenue in Mandurriao district that they will be arrested and meted penalties once they are caught by traffic enforcers deployed in the area.
His warning was in response to a number of complaints reaching his office that some motorists use the newly opened road as a "race track."
The 1.02 kilometers bypass road is currently used as alternative route of public utility vehicles going to Arevalo and Oton while a portion of M.H. Del Pilar Street is closed for the construction of the flyover project in the junction of Infante and General Luna Streets.
At least three traffic aides are assigned in Pison Avenue to oversee the traffic flow in the area.
Meanwhile, Treñas said the Pison Avenue will be fully lighted as soon as the Sangguniang Panlungsod approves the Supplemental Budget (SB) Number 1 that he requested. The supplemental budget amounted to some P45 million. In the supplemental budget, P400,000 is allocated for the lighting of the Pison Avenue.
