City gov't employees ordered to wear uniform, ID when on duty
City Mayor Jerry Treñas has ordered all regular city employees to wear their uniforms and identification cards when they report to office effective yesterday.
Treñas, who just arrived from his trip in Germany said failure of employees to follow his order will automatically mark them absent.
The wearing of uniforms will also serve as a deterrent factor for the employees not to play bingo or go shopping inside the mall while it is still office hours. The employees should stick to the regular office hours which is 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Casual and job-hire employees likewise are directed to wear their proper identification cards issued by the city government. The same identification card is used as their admission card in entering the mall. The identification card is also different from the identification pass issued by the mall to the employees.
Meanwhile, Treñas said all city government employees are allowed to eat their pack lunch inside their respective offices. He said the mall only prohibits vendors from selling pack lunch or "merienda" inside the mall.
This is contrary to earlier rules of the mall that employees should eat their lunch at the employees canteen. The mall has its own employees canteen for those employees who want to spend less of their food allowance.
