Capiz preschoolers avail of UNICEF 'goodies'
Roxas City -- More preschool children in Capiz are now benefiting from the program materials of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
According to Provincial head Violeta Silva of the Social Welfare and Development Office of Capiz, three more day care centers in Ivisan town have availed of the program materials for day care pupils.
Said day care centers are in Balaring and Basiao, Ivisan, Silva said, adding that they are also scheduled to distribute the same program materials for the day care centers of Burias and Bungsi in Mambusao town.
Silva disclosed that the program materials include tables and chairs, toys, eating utensils and art materials for day care pupils.
The play ground device amounting to P70,000 each was given to Balaring Day Care Center and another one for Burias Day Care Center, she said.
Said barangays are among the 10 disparity areas in Capiz for the implementation of the Sixth Country Programme for Children (CPC 6) of UNICEF in partnership with the provincial government here.
Earlier, the 22 day care centers of Cuartero town, one of the two pilot towns of Johnson and Johnson, have availed of the program materials, she said, stressing that some of the day care centers of Mambusao, President Roxas, Panay and Cuartero were also given play ground devices.
