Negros Occidental PAGKAON Scholar wins TOSP award
Bacolod City -- Negros Occidental Scholarship Program -- PAGKAON grantee Cherrie D. Atilano was chosen as one of the 2007 Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP) recently.
Atilano is from Brgy. E. Lopez, Silay City, this province. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Leyte State University (LSU) in Baybay, Leyte last April 2007 with the degree BS in Agriculture major in Horticulture specializing in tissue culture.
Atilano received a trophy and P20,000.00 from her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo during the Awarding Ceremony at Rizal Hall, Malacanang Palace, Manila last July 5, 2007.
Atilano said that when she was nominated by the school for the 2007 TOSP Search, she did her best so that the Province of Negros Occidental would be proud of her, to prove that she is worthy of the scholarship she enjoyed and to serve as an inspiration to her co-scholars and other students.
She expressed her thanks to the people who supported her especially her family, friends and teachers, Neg. Occ. Gov. Joseph G. Marañon and Vice Gov. Isidro P. Zayco and the Province of Negros Occidental.
