Bacolod water district inaugurates new rehabilitation projects
BACOLOD CITY -- The Bacolod City Water District (BACIWA) will inaugurate Wednesday two of its major rehabilitation projects.
General Manager BACIWA Juliana Carbon said these projects include the installation of a 5.2 kilometer transmission line and the activation of the break pressure tank and Phase III water lines.
The 5.2 transmission line will cover 48 areas in the east of Bacolod City.
Carbon said residents within the area would experience a 10-hour water interruption starting at 8:00 o'clock on Wednesday morning.
The break pressure tank and replacement of water lines, included in the Phase III of the rehabilitation program, will cover areas from Alangilan to San Dionisio.
"This is part of our efforts to improve water distribution by addressing water leakage and pilferage problems that represent the 37 percent of our non-revenue supply," she said.
Carbon is optimistic that with the rehabilitation project they would be able to recover the water supply that goes to leakages and pilferages.
