'Bright Child' photo contest launched
The Regional Sub-Committee for the Welfare of Children (RSCWC) has launched a Photo Contest with the theme "Bright Child: Karapatan nasa 'yo, Isigaw sa buong mundo!"
The contest is open to all Filipino photo enthusiasts, amateur and professionals in the Philippines, regardless of age and affiliations and whose entries have not been published or won in any national or international contests.
All entries must depict the theme "Bright Child: Karapatan nasa 'yo, isigaw sa Buong Mundo!" Photos should reflect Filipino children as they enjoy their right to a family, rights to survival, development, participation and protection.
The Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) will accommodate only 2007 photo shots, accompanied by a duly accomplished entry information sheet which can be downloaded on-line at www.cwc.gov,ph.
The information sheet includes full name of the photographer, age and sex, complete mailing address, telephone/fax numbers, TIN (for children participants, TIN of parents should be included, title of the entry (optional), short description of the family or community, to include: name of models, address, activity, site of the photo shoot.
There is no limit to the number of entries a participant may submit but one photo one entry form should be complied with.
The CWC said the entries should be plain 8"x10" on photo paper as inkjet print-outs are not allowed. Film or digital camera output on photo paper should be processed by photo labs only. Alterations after exposure, digital darkroom, painting, airbrushing, paste on or assembly are not allowed. No infrared, only normal darkroom techniques such as dodging, burning in and cropping are allowed.
Deadline of submission is on October 15, 2007, while judging will be on October 18 at the CWC Office, Sta. Mesa Heights, Quezon City. Prizes at stake are P30,000 for the First Prize, P20,000 for the Second, and P10,000 for the Third and consolation prizes for the 4th and 5th Prizes, subject to 10 percent tax.
