ICUPAO seeks SP nod of payment scheme for relocation sites
The chief of the Iloilo City Urban Poor Affairs Office (ICUPAO) is requesting Mayor Jerry Treñas to follow up before the Sangguniang Panlungsod the repayment scheme they have designed for three relocation sites in the city.
ICUPAO chair Roy Firmeza said the repayment scheme would sustain the Resettlement and Housing Program of the city government. A copy of the repayment scheme was already furnished to the city council but no action was taken yet.
The three relocation sites are the San Isidro relocation site in Lapaz, Bito-on New Site in Bito-on, Jaro and South Fundidor in Molo. Said relocation sites then cost P18,052,653. The city government has poured P11,350,000 for land acquisition and development of the said relocation sites.
In the repayment scheme designed by ICUPAO, the occupants in the San Isidro site that has a home lot of 60 square meters has to pay the city government an amortization of P135 per month for 120 months. For those with 80 square meters home lots, an amortization of P179 for 120 months or 10 years.
In Bitoon New Site occupants with 60 square meters of home lot have a monthly amortization of P247 and P329 for occupants with 80 square meters. The payment term is also 120 months.
On the other hand, occupants in South Fundidor relocation site who availed of 48 square meters of home lot will have a monthly amortization of P234 and P340 for those who have 70 square meters of home lot.
It was learned that ICUPAO's repayment scheme was submitted to the city council in the year 2005 yet.
The ICUPAO will also present another set of repayment schemes for four more relocation sites in the city in the next 30 days.
