BIR sets Tax Amnesty Roadshow
The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Region 12 is set to conduct a Tax Amnesty Roadshow on October 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Garden Royale Main Hall at Goldenfield Commercial Complex.
The roadshow is a comprehensive tax information drive on Republic Act 9480 also known as the Tax Amnesty Act of 2007.
RA 9480, which took effect May 2007 and implemented September 2007, covers all national internal revenue taxes imposed by the National Government for the taxable year 2005 and prior years, with or without assessments duly issued therefore, that have remained unpaid as of December 31, 2005.
It is an act that aims to enhance the revenue administration collections of the government by granting amnesty on all unpaid internal revenue taxes imposed by the national government for taxable year 2005 and prior years.
Under the amnesty program, individuals, whether resident or nonresident citizens, or resident or nonresident aliens; Estates and trusts; Corporations; Cooperatives and tax exempt entities that have become taxable as of December 31, 2005; and Other juridical entities including partnerships may avail of the amnesty offered by the BIR as provided by RA 9480.
Third District Representative of Quezon Province and Chairman of the Oversight Committee will be the guest speaker for the roadshow. (PIA/EAD)
