CENRO Bacolod City Inaugurated New Port Station
To further enhance capability to deter illegal transport of forest products and wildlife, Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Bacolod City opened its latest monitoring station at Bredco RoRo Port located in the Reclamation Area, this city.
The inauguration was spearheaded by Regional Executive Director Lormelyn E. Claudio of DENR Region VI, together with PENR Officer Livino B. Duran of PENRO, Negros Occidental, OIC, CENR Officer Joan Nathaniel F. Gerangaya and BREDCO representative Mr. Ramon R. Trocio who cut the ceremonial ribbon.
OIC, CENRO Gerangaya said that the station will serve as clearing office to all transported forest products and wildlife passing through PGMA's Nautical Highway. Four regular personnel compose the taskforce who will alternately man the office in monitoring the transport of forest products and wildlife.
Two Memoranda of Agreement were also signed during the occasion. One for the use of the office by and between DENR and one BREDCO and the other one for the use of an area for nursery purposes by the DENR and Barangay 13, Bacolod City.
