Ateneo de Iloilo embarks on a Journey
Ateneo de Iloilo (ADI)-Santa Maria Catholic School will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2008, with a grand launching set on November 30, 2007.
As a fitting pre-Golden Jubilee activity, the 2007 Silver Jubilee Batch in cooperation with the ADI-SMCS Alumni Association and the ADI High School Student Council presents: The Journey…A Walk thru Life. This fund raising event takes place on November 9, 2007 at the ADI-SMCS Gym with a matinee show for students at 3 PM and a gala show for benefactors, sponsors and friends at 6 PM.
Some 200 students, parents, alumni, teachers and even the Jesuit Fathers will venture into the ramp and attempt to capture the centerstage as The Journey chronicles the important and momentous events in the life of every Sta. Maria Atenean – from the first steps in pre-school to the exciting elementary and high school years and extending further to the challenges of the professional world.
Gifts and donations for The Journey will go to the construction of the new Ateneo de Iloilo campus in San Rafael, Mandurriao. The show is directed by Mr. Aldrich Aparicio and featuring the exciting and modern fashion designs of Ms. Grace Clavel. Ms. Bernadeth Rojo, Alumni Secretary, is at the helm as Production Manager.
The Journey is the first of many other activities of the ADI-SMCS Alumni Association headed by its Chairman, Mr. Benedict Uygongco, and President, Atty. Jobert Peñaflorida. Already slated for December 29, 2007 is the 2007 Alumni Homecoming, dubbed as the Ateneo Blue Jeans Party, at the Sarabia Manor Hotel.
ADI Father President Manuel Uy, S.J. is hopeful that these activities will effectively jumpstart a truly Golden Jubilee year for Ateneo de Iloilo.
