Biggest TravelXchange slated in Bacolod
BACOLOD CITY -- The biggest TravelXchange undertaking will be held in Bacolod City on February 1 to 3, 2008, which will push not only the Philippines' top tourist destination but also those within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Jennylind Cordero, Negros Occidental provincial tourism officer told PNA that the biggest TravelXchange 2008, now on its third year, will bring together sellers from different hotels, resorts, airlines, cruise lines, hospitality and leisure products, tour operators, travel agents, dive resorts, fast-craft operators and destination companies to Bacolod to offer its residents attractive tour packages and rates.
Cordero said that the Malaysian Tourism Board, A'Famosa Resort Malaysia, Microtel Inns and Suites (Phil.) Inc. Amadeus, Cebu Pacific, Greater Subic Bay Toursim Bureau, Bohol Divers Resort and Convention Center, Cebu Parklane International Hotel, DOT Region 10, Plantation Bay Resort and Spa, and Cordova Village Resort are among the early confirmed participants with more expected to officially sign in.
She said the undertaking is supported by the Department of Tourism (DOT), PAGCOR, City of Bacolod, Office of the Negros Occ. Governor, Cebu Pacific and Skal International.
The three-day event, Cordero said, will also feature variety shows and dances from the different participating regions.
Attractive travel products and holiday packages will be raffled off daily during the show, she also said.
Tourism Secretary Joseph Ace Durano is expected to join local dignitaries in opening the 3rd TravelXchange on February 1, 2008.
The Department of Tourism (DOT) will present travel product updates during the fair while tour operators, corporate accounts and group organizers from Bacolod and Iloilo will attend workshop sessions, she added.
Cordero said that organizers expect visitors to the three-day fair to be offered attractive travel packages, products and fares at low, low prices with a chance of winning free trips. (PNA)
