Bacolod City receives rice donations from Fil-Chinese group
Bacolod City -- A total of 15 sacks of rice were turned–over by the Negros Filipino-Chinese Foundation, Inc., (NOFCFI) to the local government of Bacolod City recently.
NOFCFI was represented by President Alfonso Luis Tan and other officers of the Fil-Chinese group during the turn-over.
Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia ordered the distribution of the sacks of rice donated to various charitable institutions. Among those given the rice donations were St. Vincent De Paul Home for the Older Person in Brgy. Tangub; Bacolod Girls Home Foundation,Inc. in Brgy. Alijis; Holy Family Home Bacolod Foundation, Inc., Capuchin Tertiary Sisters in Brgy. Cabug.
Other beneficiaries were the Bacolod City Social Development Center; Bacolod Boy's Home; St. Mary's Home for the Aged Foundation, Inc. in Brgy. Alangilan, and Home for the Blind in Brgy. Mansilingan.
Leonardia added 2 boxes of canned goods each for the said institutions. The remaining rice will be repacked and will be given to other less-fortunate residents in Bacolod.
The effort of NOFCFI was appreciated by the Bacolod local government with Mayor Leonardia saying "we are glad to share our blessings with our poor constituents, just as our friends from the Chinese Community in Bacolod, as well as from the other sectors, who unselfishly share their blessings."
