DFA temporarily suspends mobile passporting program
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) regional consular office announced the temporary suspension of its mobile passporting program until the operation at their office returns to normal.
DFA regional consular officer Victor Española confirmed that his office has been receiving requests from various local government units in Negros Occidental, Antique and Capiz but they could not act on those requests at the moment.
Española said they have limited logistics because they are still adjusting with the introduction of the machine readable passport (MRP) replacing the green ones.
He added they will probably resume with the mobile passporting in February or until further notice.
The mobile passporting is made available to local government units upon requests of their officials.
With the mobile passporting program, applicants need not go to the regional office of the DFA in Iloilo just to process the said document. (PNA)
