Paref Westbridge spreads the Christmas Spirit
On the last school day of the year, Westbridge parents, teachers and students gather together as one family to share the Christmas spirit to one another.
The day started with the dawn Mass celebrated by Fr. Rey Salvador, the School Chaplain. He spoke about the Passion or the Energy to do things for God and for others. Each parent has the passion to take care of the children, the teachers with each student and each student with his ideals and dreams. The Dawn Mass in preparation for Christmas was a showcase of the passion of the collaboration of the parents, teachers and students in the decoration and in the different parts of the liturgy.
This was followed by the breakfast with families around the school grounds. It was good to note the family spirit all around. Very dramatic are those overseas parents who were able to come home from abroad and spend Christmas with their family and with the school.
The rest of the morning up to early afternoon was reserved for the most awaited activity of the Nabitasan Elementary Children: their Christmas party in Westbridge. Each Westbridge boy welcomed and toured each of the Nabitasan children. There were class games and presentations that lightened the atmosphere and made the guests feel at home. After their lunch, the student council prepared a program with numbers from both schools and with gift-giving and songs of thanks and farewell.
Finally, the day was capped by An Evening of Christmas Carols with the Primary Department pupils, parents and teachers performing before friends and relatives who enjoyed the Christmas spirit. It was so moving to see the little angels singing inspiring songs. Equally moving are the efforts of parents and teachers to prepare and render the traditional Christian Christmas carols that highlight Christ's birth. Towards the end, a group of parents and teachers relive the Christmas story with a tableau that was picture perfect for the scene at Bethlehem. And what a surprise: Santa appeared at the end giving presents to each child.
Amazing! It was one great and memorable day of Christmas worship at the family Dawn Mass, giving and sharing with our Nabitasan brothers and sisters and a meaningful celebration with Christmas Carols that remind us of the Child Jesus and the Holy Family.
