IDFI unafraid of SP probe
Officials of the Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation Inc. (IDFI) are ready to accept whatever the result of the investigation being conducted by the Sangguniang Panlungsod.
This was expressed by IDFI executive director Ben Jimena following the SP investigation over the alleged ticket fiasco and some other problems that cropped up in the recently concluded Dinagyang festival.
Jimena said the foundation will continue its work pending the outcome of the probe.
Last Wednesday Councilor Julienne Baronda came out to deny reports that she initiated the probe against IDFI.
Jimena said they are ready to accept whatever is the result of the SP investigation.
He, however, admitted that they are "disenchanted" with the way some members of the legislative body treated the foundation.
Jimena said they are not afraid of the investigation being conducted by the city council as they have been transparent in their transactions since the time they were given the chance to manage the Dinagyang festival.
Jimena also denied the claim of Francis Segovia of the Association of Tribes in Iloilo that the foundation did not give them their share of the P500,000 donation from Rep. Raul Gonzalez Sr.
He said, the donation was made in the name of the foundation and the foundation holds the authority on how to disburse the said amount.
