City extends financial help to family of 3 burned kids
City Mayor Jerry Treñas has given financial assistance to the family of the three children who were charred to death by the fire that razed three houses in Barangay Caingin, La Paz last Saturday.
Treñas said couple Raffy and Reynalda Aliguro, parents of Vincent, 6, Christian, 5, and Ron Robert, 3, who were burned in the conflagration, received a total of P15,000 financial assistance. They also received free caskets for their dead children.
The fire investigators recovered the charred bodies of the fatalities inside the house of their grandmother Nenita Cabaluna. Investigators theorized the three kids were sleeping when the fire broke out and they were eventually trapped when their house was engulfed by flames. The kids were still hugging each other when the firemen found their charred bodies.
The fire also destroyed the houses of Juanito Eribal and Junil Eribal and partially burned that of Miguel de Asis. Investigators said the fire emanated at the ground floor of Cabaluna's house.
Treñas said the parents of the victims will also undergo counseling for the tragedy that they suffered. Reynalda tried to save her three kids but she did not make it. She was only able to save her three-month old baby.
The victims' father Raffy was in his work in the town of Sta. Barbara when the fire broke out that razed three of his young children.
The Bureau of Fire and Protection is still investigating the cause of the fire that lead to the death of the three children. The fire also caused an estimated P250,000 worth of damage to properties.
