Cuevas heeds Guv's objection, recalls 12 Negros-bound cops
Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 director Chief Supt. Isagani Cuevas has backtracked from his earlier order to throw the twelve alleged erring policemen from Iloilo and Guimaras provinces to Negros Occidental.
This after Negros Occidental Governor Isidro Zayco blocked the supposed reassignment of controversial cops to his province.
Zayco earlier declared that he doesn’t want his province to be a dumping ground for said cops who have been reported to have bad records.
Zayco in a letter asked Cuevas to recall the reassignment of the twelve policemen.
To avoid further conflict with the local government unit (LGU), Cuevas heeded the request.
He immediately ordered the recall of the twelve cops back to PRO 6 headquarters in Camp Delgado.
Cuevas said the policemen will be transferred to other provinces in the region.
He clarified that Governor Zayco might have been misinformed about the real status of the subject policemen.
He said they are being transferred to other assignments so that they could no longer continue with their usual activities which is contrary to their duties as policemen.
Cuevas said with new and different environment the said policemen have no choice but to reform themselves.
Reached by RMN Iloilo yesterday, Zayco thanked Cuevas for heeding his request for the recall of the twelve cops.
The policemen who were supposed to be assigned in various police stations in Negros Occidental are SPO1 Reynaldo Alan, SPO3 Anthony Gabiano, SPO1 Rex delos Reyes, SPO1 Ferdinand Garcia, SPO1 Arnold Alabansas, SPO2 Rene Donasco, SPO1 Gerard Rojo, SPO1 Fred Blones, SPO3 Salvador Gonzalesa, PO1 Godofredo Jamolo, PO1 Anthony Grande, PO1 Neil Bana and SPO3 Julius Froilan.
The policemen were reportedly relieved from their former positions in Iloilo and Guimaras due to their alleged involvement in illegal activities.
