WV Best Public Sector projects bared
The Regional Development Council VI (RDC VI) has finally announced the winners for the Best Public Sector Projects in the region for 2006 - 2007.
On its second year of implementation, the award seeks to recognize the public sector's initiatives and accomplishments as well as their contributions to regional development.
The winners among the 109 project entries by categories include: Bacolod City's Information Technology (IT) Investment Program for the Local Government Units Category; Department of Trade and Industry's Comprehensive Marketing Program for Floriculture Industry in Capiz for the Regional Line Agencies Category; and Negros State College of Agriculture's Food-Always-In-The Home (FAITH) Garden Plus Project for the State Universities and Colleges Category.
The awarding ceremony is set on April 18, 2008 at the Iloilo Grand Hotel. Expected to grace the event are Frances Tanner, Head of AID, Canadian Institute Development Authority; Ambassador Ryuichiro Yamazaki, Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines; and Secretary Cerge Remonde of the Presidential Management Staff.
