Police lost track on medical condition of shooting victim
Police has lost track on the whereabouts of Alfonso Jonathan Tan after the families of the latter reportedly refused to cooperate with the police investigators. Tan, one of the suspects in the killing of former Vice Mayor Guillermo Dela Llana's grandson, was shot by two unidentified suspects earlier this week in front of their family-owned security agency in Guanco Street.
Police also could not ascertain Tan's medical condition and whether he is still confined at the Iloilo Saint Paul's Hospital. It was learned that Tan's admission at said hospital was not recorded in the security guard's log book.
A source added that when police investigators checked on the medical condition of the patient, the hospital already refused to give details as per request of the Tan family.
Tan suffered from a gunshot wound on his chest and right leg when brought to the hospital for treatment.
Chief Insp. Conrado Carganillo, chief of the police precinct 1, refused to confirm or deny the reports when asked by reporters on the status of Tan's case. In earlier interviews, Carganillo said they already have leads with regard to the suspects in Tan's shooting but will not release any information as it could hamper the resolution of the case.
Tan, 27, has pending cases for illegal possession of firearms aside from his alleged involvement in the shooting of Chris Vincent De la Llana.
The victim also allegedly figured in an incident when he reportedly shot his uncle years ago. No formal charges was pressed against him after it was settled within their family.
