Civil registrar's office now accepts NSO authentication applications
In a move to lessen the volume of applicants at the National Statistics Office (NSO), some Local Civil Registry in the province can now accept NSO authenticated applications.
NSO Chief Fred Sollesta said Civil Registrar's Office in Sipalay, Cauayan, Kabankalan, La Castellana, Pontevedra and Valladolid have started to accept NSO application papers. The service will soon be available in Bago City.
In the north, residents in the cities of Sagay, Cadiz, Victorias and the municipality of Escalante have already availed of this service which will soon be opened in Escalante and Toboso.
He said applicants will no longer need to fall in line at the NSO as early 3:00am to be able to get the papers they need.
The rates will vary depending on the ordinance passed by their local council. Authentication of birth certificate, for example, costs P125.00 and an add-on that goes to the local treasury.
But one can still save considering the cost of transportation, food and the time spent in the process of getting the document if they apply at NSO provincial office
The fees will still go up beginning May 1 as the Bureau of Internal Revenue has imposed a P15.00 documentary stamp tax.
Releasing of papers may take a few more days longer but not too long compared to the releasing schedule at the NSO. (PIA-LOL)
