From the soldiers in the battlefield, to the country's navy and marines of Western Visayas, full support has been assured on the change of command in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
In fact, a "commitment of utmost support" was issued in a press statement furnished to The News Today (TNT) by AFP's Captain Lowen Gil Marquez.
"The Armed Forces of the Philippines in Western Visayas are supporting the new Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff, Lt. General Alexander Yano," the news release went. "Lt. Yano from the promise land of Mindanao is more ready to take post as new CSAFP and continue the plans and programs of his predecessor. The entire members of the AFP welcome the simple and fatherly new Chief of Staff."
Further still, Captain Marquez in behalf of the WV AFP hierarchy gave credence to the leadership of newly-retired AFP General Hermogenes Esperon.
"….as the good General retire from the military service, he has left a mark of excellent leadership and service to the AFP and the Filipino people. The members of the AFP together with civilian employees in Region 6 proudly salute the outgoing CSAFP," the statement continued.
Captain Marquez is the commanding officer of the 3rd Civil Relations Group.
"The AFP is united in continuing its fight against the enemy of the state and the masses," he ended.
