Red plate vehicle out on a holiday
Yesterday was a non-working holiday as declared by Pres. Arroyo so Bull's Eye was surprised to see a red plate vehicle in the city. The vehicle with plate number SFY 512 was spotted parking across the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas building in Solis Street around 1 p.m. The vehicle did not have any signage as to what office it belongs but at the rear portion there is a sticker printed with "Gugma ni Castro". Apparently, the vehicle came from the province of Capiz as the "Gugma ni Castro" slogan belongs to the congressman of the second district of Capiz Fredenil Castro.
How's my driving?...
All public utility vehicles are now required to have their rear part printed with this words: "How's my driving? Please call LTFRB 329-43-85." For all intents and purposes this move of the LTFRB is laudable as it will curb abusive drivers. The problem however is, when you call the number it takes several rings before it is answered. At night nobody answers the phone. Maybe LTFRB should put a telephone operator to handle telephone calls 24 hours a day. Otherwise, there's no use putting the number at the rear portion of public utility vehicles. What do you think Direk Pery?
On renewable energy
There's so much talk about renewable energy nowadays. With the power situation in Panay Island in critical condition various ideas crop up on how to address the looming problem without adding to the worsening climate condition of the globe we are in. The problem however is much of the talk on promoting renewable sources of energy remains only a talk. Apparently there's lack of government support, good for Antique there's an investor that will develop a mini-hydro power plant in Bugasong town. But how much energy will it produce? Could it fill up the power needs of the entire island? How sustainable is it? Moreover, aside from Sunwest are there any other investors coming that will discover and develop any other renewable sources of energy in Panay Island?
