PNP keeps an eye on 'no plate' vehicles
The Philippine National Police (PNP) in Region VI is implementing the "no plate, no travel" policy.
This was disclosed by PNP 6 Regional Director, Chief Supt. Isagani Cuevas during a media interview where he stressed that the activity is to prevent the possible movement of criminal and even terrorist elements.
He explained that there are instances where criminals ride in vehicles without plate number, and wearing no helmet in the case of persons riding on motorbikes.
"Car plate number must be displayed, and helmet must be worn by motorbike rider," he emphasized.
Cuevas said that there are more policemen in the streets and communities assigned to police visibility and patrol duties, especially that classes will start June 10.
"Our visibility ensures the operational readiness of police units in responding to peace and order concerns including threats from criminal elements who may take advantage of the situation," the PNP 6 Director said. (PIA/T.Villavert)
