Ilonggos will have a rare chance to get to know more two of the country's top peacekeepers through a Static Exhibit which opened yesterday, June 10, at the SM City Iloilo Activity Center.
Organized by the Regional Association of the National Government Executives 6 (RANGE 6), Philippine National Police and the Philippine Army, the two-day exhibit is part of the 110th celebration of the Philippine Independence Day on June 12.
The exhibit features paraphernalia, weapons, insignia and outfits of the Philippine Army (PA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP). It also displays the different activities of both organizations in the region, and features an interactive exhibit whereby people who are interested in joining the PA and PNP can have their questions answered.
In her remarks during the opening, Atty. Janet Mesa, President of RANGE 6 who is also the Director of the Philippine Information Agency 6 cited the peace keeping efforts of both organizations in preserving the hard-earned freedom which our forefathers fought.
Mesa said the activity is also an opportunity that will bring the PNP and PA closer to the community.
The exhibit is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and will run until June 11.
Aside from the exhibit, the RANGE in Western Visayas has also organized a Flag Caravan in the morning of June 12 that will start in the different designated points in the five districts of the province. The motorized flag caravan will lead the civic and military parade set in the afternoon featuring 11 themed floats of our country's history. (PIA)
