'Life will be better,' Syjuco assures amidst RP crisis
Life for every Filipino particularly on the poorest of the poor will be better. And alongside mounting calls for a stronger economy, the government is in full control, the President works even harder.
Such was the message conveyed by Secretary Augusto Boboy Syjuco, Director-General of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) as the nation marked yesterday the 110th anniversary of the Philippine Revolution cum Independence Day.
The main gist of his talk before members of the local media and regional directors of various national government agencies, the Ilonggo Secretary used the occasion to help spread the word from Malacañang.
Government intervention is massive and in place, he assured as he called on various agency heads to maximize efforts in alleviating concerns and problems of the community.
Various crisis to hit the Philippines are also not exclusive to the nation, Secretary Syjuco said. In fact, he pointed out, countries around the globe likewise face high price fuel costs and battle food and rice crisis alike.
"These are global problems and the Philippine government is working harder. President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is doing everything on her power to stabilize the prices, work on adequate supply of rice and the attainment of over-all food security…the volatility on price cost is a challenge faced by all nations…but things will be better…..life will be better," Syjuco assured. "Things that are physically possible and within the parameters of law, no doubt that President Gloria Arroyo will lead us out of the crisis."
The press conference was called after the Independence Day celebration hosted by the Municipality of Santa Barbara and the launching of TESDA's job fair.
TESDA continues to push for Syjuco-initiated programs among which are the highly-successful ladderized education, the hundreds of thousands in scholarship grants, train-for-work projects and massive fund lobbying.
From P50 million in national government funding, TESDA in Syjuco's administration managed to now get some P1.55 Billion.
