SAC to put up medical center, nursing building
SAN JOSE, Antique – Significant activities highlighted the celebration of the Feast of St. Anthony of Padua at the Saint Anthony's College (SAC) here last week.
After the Paraliturgy and Floral Offering at the Shrine of St. Anthony, Rev. Fr. Jose Bantolo, SAC President, spearheaded the groundbreaking for the proposed Nursing Building and the Saint Anthony's College Medical Center followed by the blessing of the Caregiving Laboratory, new High School classrooms and Crime Laboratory.
SAC recently opened two new courses: Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Criminology to widen up the horizon of Antiqueño students.
Fr. Bantolo said the SAC Medical Center has long been a dream of the SAC community with the help of the Diocese of Antique. It will cater to the medical and health needs of the Antiqueños so they no longer have to go to Iloilo City to seek treatment. The Medical Center will be equipped with complete modern health facilities with 50-bed capacity. It will be put up beside the La Mennais Brothers formation house at Brgy. San Angel, San Jose de Buenavista.
Meanwhile, as part of the celebration the SAC community gave a short presentation and appreciation to Bishop Romulo T. Dela Cruz.
Bishop Dela Cruz, who hails from Balasan, Iloilo, will be moved to Kidapawan, North Cotabato on June 17th. He served the Diocese of Antique for 7 years.
Bishop Dela Cruz said, he is very thankful and happy to serve the province and as a legacy, the challenge to unite the priests in Antique has been achieved. He appreciated the support and involvement of the lay people.
In his message to the SAC community, Bishop Dela Cruz said that Antiqueños must not weep and he expressed his farewell through singing.
The activities were also attended by the faculty and staff and students of Saint Anthony's College.
