Capiz has new PNP director
ROXAS CITY – Police Senior Supt. Josephus Angan formally assumed as Officer-In-Charge Provincial Director of the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) during a turn-over of command ceremony last July 2 at Camp Teodorico Apil in Barangay Loctugan here.
S/Supt. Angan replaced outgoing CPPO Provincial Director S/Supt. Roberto Villanueva who served as the province's top cop in the last 16 months.
The ceremony was graced by Police Regional Office (PRO) – 6 Director Chief Supt. Isagani Cuevas who have also been together with SSupts. Villanueva and Angan during his assignment at the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
"Our mission remains the same which is to ensure public safety through the support of the community," said Supt. Angan in his remarks as the CPPO new commander.
"I also enjoined each cop to internalize the Mamang Pulis concept which calls for policemen to be dependable, approachable, presentable, humane, and God-fearing," he added.
The Mamang Pulis program of Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Chief Supt. Avelino Razon aims to move forward the PNP organization as it continues to regain the respect of the people and the community it has sworn to serve and protect.
For his part, S/Supt. Villanueva, who will be the new Chief of Police of Malabon City in Metro Manila, extended his gratitude to various personalities behind his "opportunity to serve as Provincial Director of Capiz PNP."
"I hope I could be of service again to all of you someday," he added.
The ceremony included the reading of relief/designation orders, presentation of award by C/Supt. Cuevas to Villanueva, assumption of command as well as reading and signing of assumption order, turn-over of command symbol, and a message from Capiz Gov. Victor Tanco, Sr., among others. (PIA/A.Lumaque)
