BACOLOD CITY – The new Bacolod City Slaughterhouse under the Management of AVM Bernardo Engineering Services, a private entity who entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with the city government, is set to operate said abattoir before the end of July.
This was announced by AVM Bernardo Legal Counsel Atty. Ernie Urbano who called up the media yesterday to inform that their dry run operation was aborted after the generating set malfunctioned.
AVM Bernardo Engineering Services supposedly was scheduled yesterday to present its vital and specific operation on how to operate the "Double A" standard slaughterhouse.
On the other hand, City Mayor Evelio Leonardia welcomes the operation of the new slaughterhouse and thanked AVM Bernardo for its multi million investment here in the city. He said that the modern slaughterhouse situated in Brgy. Handumanan will enhance the image of Bacolod as the cleanest and greenest, highly urbanized city in the country.
In addition, Atty. Urbano said that the slaughterhouse's modern facilitie could bring a big boost to the city's tourism industry, since a new abattoir could assure a continuous supply of clean and safe meat to our restaurants and resorts, in line with Bacolod City's drive to become a prime tourist destination.
