Search for entries in Kabankalan's Battle of the Bands now open
Thirteen groups have already signified intention to join the Battle of the Bands, one highlight of the 11th Charter Day of Kabankalan City on July 28 to Aug. 2.
Boy Sia, member of the K-City Band and chairman of the contest, said he needs seven more groups to complete the 20 participants needed in the contest.
The 13 entries are from Cauayan, NSCA, Sipalay, Hinobaan, Villadolid, Bacolod and Silay Cities.
Deadline for submission of entry will be on July 28 at 12 noon. Top five will be chosen during the elimination round on July 29 at 6 p.m. The grand finals will be on Aug. 1, Friday, 7 p.m. at the city plaza.
Sia said, registration for the contest is free and accommodation is not provided. The contest is open to all ages and the contest piece is "Don't Stop Believin" by the Journey (male vocalist, original key). The group must prepare one OPM, one foreign and performance is only 15 minutes.
Members should not be more than six, not less than four, only single pedal will be used. The group may bring their own pedal and their own musical instrument. Only the drumset is provided by the organizer.
Drawing of lots will be done on July 29 at 5 p.m. at the Senior's Citizen Office.
