TMEU to resume implementation of traffic laws
The Traffic Management and Engineering Unit (TMEU) will start to revitalize its campaign against all traffic violations in the city. Traffic violations have been tolerated for awhile after the city focused its attention in the relief operations.
Mayor Jerry Treñas admitted that there was a slight complacency in the enforcement of the traffic ordinances recently as the city's attention is centered in the relief operation.
Treñas said all matters regarding traffic enforcement will be implemented as the city already reached its 80 percent target in the clean up drive.
The implementation of truck ban was likewise suspended to give way to all the relief operation efforts. Trucks carrying relief goods and construction materials were allowed to enter in the city even during rush hours.
Treñas admitted they have "loosen up" with their traffic improvement strategies to contain the traffic problems in the city. He assured the public that the problems related to traffic will soon be attended.
