NOCECO Toastmasters holds 7thinduction rites
The NOCECO Toastmasters Club held its 7thInduction Ceremonies and Installation of Officers with John Peter Millan, president of the board, Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative, Inc. as guest speaker and Distinguished Toastmaster Greg Vallejera, retired chief ATO Control Tower as inspirational speaker.
Induction of the new set of officers was conducted by CTM Lorna Espartero, incoming Division D Governor and member of the Riverside Toastmasters in Bacolod City, held at the Noceco multi-purpose gymnasium in Kabankalan City.
The new officers for the incoming year 2008-2009 are: TM Jerry Algara, president; TM Joel Matula, vice president; TM Roselle Serna, VP-membership; CL Eduardo Yap, VP-public relations; CL Edgardo Gevero, Secreary; CTM Cherrie Grace Abkilan, treasurer; and TM Federico Gequillana, sergeant-at-arms.
Installed as new members are Dr. Roselle Serna, Engr. Amelo Abad, Engr. Jude Tadeo Gayamo, Engr. Anthony Magbanua and Elna Mapa.
Millan cited the existence of toastmasters club in Kabankalan whose mission is to develop communication and leadership skills, which will foster self-confidence and personal growth. Members can use their skills in communication to effectively inform the public on energy conservation and climate change, Millan said.
The induction rites were focused on the theme: Making the Most Out of Life.
